The Oversized Tee, Done Right: A Fit Guide

Oversized tee fit guide, how an oversized t-shirt should fit

“Oversized” gets thrown around a lot. Done wrong, it's just a tee that's too big. Done right, it has structure, weight, and intention. Here's how we think about it.

Weight matters more than size

A great oversized tee starts with heavyweight cotton. Thin fabric collapses on the body; heavyweight cotton holds its shape and drapes cleanly. Every DUSKWATER tee is built on a heavyweight, garment-washed body for that lived-in weight from day one.

How it should fit

  • Shoulders: dropped, sitting below your natural shoulder
  • Body: roomy through the chest, straight down — not tent-like
  • Length: hits mid-to-lower hip, long enough to layer

How to size

Our tees run oversized. If you want a true oversized look, take your normal size. Want it closer to regular fit? Size down one. Every product page has a full size chart in inches — check the size guide before you order.

Keep it clean

Balance the volume up top with a slimmer or straight bottom, and keep the palette tight — washed neutrals, black, cream. That's the DUSKWATER look: restrained, cinematic, easy.
